i need some help with tire sizes

on my truck i currently have 235/75 r15 on it i want a taller wider tire but i dont understand the numbers, i know the 15 is rim size so what are the other 2

The 235 is the tread width, the 75 is the sidewall height. Its a ratio of the tread width. So your sidewall height is 75% of your tread width. 255/70/r15 would be taller and wider.

235 is tire width (or Section Width), not tread width. Two totally different things.

Yes thats what I meant, guess I was trying not to confuse him with just width.

Check out the folks at Coker Tire (cokertire.com). I have found them to be very helpful . If their catalog doesn't give you conversion sizes, they will promptly answer your e-mailed questions and give you suggestions on new tire sizes.
