I finally found some time and completed the job. just one thing odd though the new bearing/grease seal and nut will not go onto the spindle enough so I can put the cotter pin back in the axle. I am assuming the little rust that is on the new spindle is causing this. I am thinking if I drive around for a bit then try to tighten the nut, maybe the surface rust will waer off.
I am certain the new spindle is the exact one I need but the diameter of the axle is slightly enlarged by the rust.
Any comments?

Next project I have to adjust the drum brakes. What is the best way to do this front or back first?
