Post i really need some help!

the transmission in my daily driver just went out the other day.i went to the auto parts store and they sell remanufactured trannys for cheap but they need to know the distance of the torque convereter bolt.i could't really make out much of what he was saying but he said there were 3 distances'9.5,10.5,and 11.5.my transmission is in a 70 F-100 and is a c-4 with the filler tube that attaches to the pan and 26 spline.im not sure if this is common knowledge but if any one knows what it is or knows how to measure it i would appreciate it alot.even a website i could link to would be great .thanks.

Cool

You do not mention the engine size.

Depending on engine size the truck will normally have one of the two larger converters.

You need to check the size of the pilot for the crank shaft too!

I doubt the truck has an FMX since the filler tube was in the case on FMX trannys as I recall. The FMX cousin the cast-iron cruise-O trannys had filler tubes in the pans.

Many C-4's had filler tubes in the pans in Broncos, trucks, and van applications.
