I have recently rebuilt my 350 small block chevy. I bout a rebuild kit for a .030 bore. I am not sure what kind of cam it cam with but probably a crappy one. I want the car to sound amazing and was told the cam makes all the difference. If i wanted to put a new cam in what would I have to do to the engine. Would there or is there any possibility to just put a new one in without doing anything?? Please give me some suggestions.

I have just what you need. A Crane blueprint hydraulic, 375 HP 327 with lifters, new in the box for $100.00 plus shipping. Very streetable with a slightly lumpy idle.

Breakin your motor for 3000mi. then take it and see how it runs all tuned.
The sound ain't goona take you down the 1/4 faster the combo will.
My car has a little cam slight lopey idle but it runs like an animal,cause the cam matchs the rest.
If you do change the cam match all you parts comp,valves,gears,tranny,converter,etc...to your aplication.
You can put a nasty cam that revs to 6500 sounds like a heard of elephants.But w/ say 3.08 gears you'll never see peak performance(maybe on the saltflats).
The idle carecter should be something that comes w/ the cam not the reason you buy the cam.
