I think my air compressor is shot
I've been having trouble w/ the check valve for a while, but now it's to the point where I take the valve all a part and clean it real good and it's get carboned up the first time I start it (I have to take it apart almost everytime it cycles now). The valve get carboned up and won't seat properly and leaks. I'm wondering it the pump is shot and is allowing excess oil to blow by. It doesn't seem to be using any oil, but it probably doesn't take much.

I think I found my problem. There was a large buildup of dust inside the cylinder head so there was a constant supply of crud to pumped down to the check valve and make it hang up. Even though I had cleaned the air filter, the dust was leaking by. I cleaned everything thoroughly and added a gasket to the filter flange so hopefully that takes care of it.
