i want to beat some people

hey guys i realize that the title of this tread was a little missleading lol but i do want to beat some people...

in our votech class we are given assignment doors that have damage and we are to fix it and paint something wild on it, the best doors get hung up on the shop walls... well the walls are full and only the best make it up there, if there anrent any good ones then none make it up there... catch my drift?

well long story short there are alot of good ideas as far as paint goes in our class. and needless to say i want mine to be on the wall, i need a wild crazy paint job that will catch my instructers eye, if you all have any links or good ideas im open for suggestions, i really want to be up there.. any help?

if the door is REALLY straight, paint it gloss black. NOTHING shows mistakes like black. If it looks good, then it is. You will find ANY defect with black.

Look at some of the flakes, candies and pearls from HOK.

Or this

And here

The possibilities are endless, if you're daring enough.

Not to throw a wrench at your door project, but sometimes simple stands out more then flashy.

This is true even in the Street Rod, Hot Rod, Antique/Classic car field.

gloss black with realistic flames, and a skull in the flame pattern

realistic flames are always cool, but the skull will earn you the spot on the wall

airbrush a torn metal effect with a bodyman inside with hammer, dolly and torch trying to straighten it out. If that doesn't catch a bodywork instructors attention, don't know what will. Come to think of it that would be kinda neat for a shop truck for a body shop.

Airbrush the reflection of your instructors face looking into the paint. Easier said than done!
