Question i was wondering if the tranny is worth a darn..............

got the tranny out of a ta that had been sitting for a few years. i got the carb on the cam now and ready to bolt up the tranny. anyone have any ideas on what i may run into? for right now, gonna hook up to the 305 till i get the 350 back together and READY TO RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! for now, i am just excited to hear it run agin.

I don't think a Pontiac and a chevy will mate up, could be wrong but don't think so. The TA trans may be a 350 or 400 but its just for pontiac applications. CK chevy talk and post back when you find out if it will work.

Confusing post to say the least. No real info on the cars or parts involved. It does look like you are talking about taking a trans out of a Pont TA and using it in a Camaro. If that is the case, it probably won't work unless it is one of the dual cases made for BOP and Chebby. The regular BOP case won't bolt to a Chebby. Wrong bolt pattern.

was wrong on the info bout tranny.......

it wasnt the original one in the ta.....it is a bought 350 and was rebuilt right before it was put in the ta.......has only been runn about 200 miles then sat for a long time. it had been driven in the last 2 years....sorry for the mixup

Ummm..... Pontiac trans ams and Chevy camaros have the same engines and transmissions i think they will bolt up (i dont know about other generations but 3rd and 4th gen parts and interchangable(cant spell))

Late model Camaros and Firebirds have the same drivetrain, after 82, I believe. Before that, they had their own, Camaro (Chevy), Firebird (Pontiac)

tranny confusion!!!

Its all godd ya'll! I fhte tranny don't bolt up you can always get a beel housing that will.I think the swap should go well myself. I any case , nice to see a chevy girl around! good luck!

I got a th350 out of a 82 monte carlo. This transmission has the multi-fit case. it will fit chevy, pontiac, and bucik.
