ID Plate, 50 chevy pu, goes where

I have checked the knowledge base and have researched this, even called Chevy Duty tach line and they could'nt tell me. Exactly where on the door post does the I.D Plate go on the 50 chevy pu. I ordered an ID plate today for my truck but not sure where it is to be placed, ie. front, back, between the hinges or under the striker plate. I feel pretty sure about it being on the drivers door. Thanks for any help, I'm just trying to get this baby ready to roll, it's Red-LOW-and almost READY TO GO. Thanks

My 62 Pontiac has it on the hinge post about 1/2 way between the hinges.................if that helps any. It's just a plate with a number on it. The other plate with the serial #s etc is on the firewall by the steering column.

The 47-54 AD trucks had the ID plate located in the same place although the color varied depending on year. It goes on the drivers "A" pillar with the top of the ID plate located 6" below the bottom bolt on the top door hinge. The writing should face out and not in so it can be read when standing outside the vehicle.

ID plate 50 chevy pu

Thanks for the info centerline that was just what I was looking for. By the way I have very much enjoyed watching you build your truck on this site, ( very nice ). I have done everything to mine myself, with help from some very good friends, they have the knowledge and skill and I just rub, grind, sand and turn a few bolts, it's been fun for me but the friend deserve the credit. It's just a little weekend show and shine ride that I hope get on the road before summer is over. Thanks for your help. I hope to get some pictures on here someday.
