id rear end?

is there any sites that will id my rear end . 12 bolt came out of 72 73 cutlass 4 link. put in chevelle. the numbers i found were on the front near the drive shaft. 402227 cfd5
dont think it is posi. but if i turn left and stomp on the gas it will get side ways but i turn right it will just smoke the right tire. why does it do this?

Open differentials will do wierd things like this.
What all do you want to know about the axle?
Give me the stamped number on the front of the passenger side axle tube, I can give the most info off from that.

i looked for a number but didnt find it on the tube but there were numbers on the front near the drive shaft/

What all else do you want to know about the axle?
It sounds like it's a 8.5 inch 10-bolt. They discontinued the 8.2 a couple years before that.
The peculiarity of it spinning wierd, could also be caused by a severly work clutch style limited slip differential too.
