ID Transmission

I have a early ford tranny hooked up behind a 1956 Buick Nailhead and am trying to figure out what year it is. It has a casting number of H633305A and a stamped number of 13130984. Would appreciate some help.

Your numbers don't help as the first appears to be a misread 1987 VIN number and the second appears to be a serial number, neither of which helps.

Find the tag on the transmission and give us those numbers. And/or post a pic. And/or post the casting numbers on the transmission.

You could also go here (http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/w..._Transmissions) and see if that helps.

what's early

back when we did a lot of engine-trans swaps you would use the trans that came with the car and an adaptor plate. Is the trans one with the stick shift as part of the top case, , a side shift cover for a column shift. Does it have a torque tube drive or open drive shaft, Is it a lincoln T 85, merc, bolt on rear adaptor for torqu tube.. A lot more info is needed
