Ideas to build high RPM SBC

Guys, I broke down and bought some sprint cars this past weekend. Two of them have motors and in the past had run the USAC class w/open motor rules. One car is a 305 carbuerated and the other is a 383 w/Hilborn Injection. I have some questions about some of the engine components and their durability. I know that I could sink 40k dollars in these motors but my son is just starting out racing sprints and I don't see any sense in going over board right out of the gate. Our future goal is to race the ASCS circuit which have very strict rules but we want to get our feet wet first before running with the big dogs. The 383 has GM heads, a solid cam and Erson roller rockers and stud girdles. How much RPM will this valvetrain handle? Also looking for ideas and specs to build another motor to replace the 305.

The question I ask is,how old are the rockers, how much time on the rockers. The stability is ok to 8k.What rocker studs are you using,3/8 or 7/16?
Are you looking for 9,000 rpm?

rpm and stud mount rockers...

with a mild cam they can take some abuse, a real racing cam will tear them up.

I understand budget concerns but with many parts you either buy a good one now, or you buy a good one after the one you just bought breaks...

On a hot street engine no one would think twice about using your parts, but your application is a LOT more demanding.
