Question Ideas?: My Friend's 55' International

Chegck out my album and you can see a pic of my friend's International. It has the stock...evrything, except carb. Me and my other friend are able and are putting big(ger) engines inour trucks. This guy has a big problem. First his steering column comes straight down into where a V block would be. He wants to put any kind of engine over 200 HP. He has found angled type linkage to get steering around a block, but now he just needs to find a engine to put in his extremely small engine compartment. Has anybody had any experience with these Internationals? Parts are real hard to find, even on the net, if you have any hookups, please post. Thanks

Since I know nothing about this person I can't help much, I don't know what ideas would fit his/her preticular likes/wants. Give me some idea of what he wants and how far he's willing to go like you did with your truck and I can garantee I can come up with at least a few ideas

Do like the Little Red Wagon and put the engine in the bed...
I saw the pic and it looked like fairly enough room to squeeze a small block into it...you'd be suprised what would fit in places.
There is a guy that owns a steel/fabricating shop in town and he has a Opal GT with a 454 Chevrolet/4spd, tubbed, tubed and whathaveyou...the valve covers won't even clear the hood but she'll scoot down the road.
Later,
WEIMER

dump the inner fenders, recess the cowl and set the engine back for a little more width and weight distribution. a sbc has got to fit in there that way...or beef up a 250 6 cylinder chev motor. those old cornbinders are nice looking trucks. Dan
