identify caddy motor?

We were given a motor that we were told came out of an older Caddy, supposedly 70's model,but have had no luck tracking down the engine ID numbers. Know of any way to find out?

70s would be a 428, 472, or 500ci. look for a vin how assembled is it? take a photo i have a 1970 cadillac deVille and did an engine swap so i can easily recognize it.. hopefully i can help
