Ididit Column with shifter

Who has used this column with built in shifter? Was it a good design to hook up to the transmission? Do they fit and shift nice? Thanks.

It helps when asking a question such as this to include a link so that the rest of us who have no experience with this product, can take a look.

I put an Ididit tile column with shifter in my '33 sedan. Installation was easy, and it shifts fine. The linkage from the column to the transmission had to be trimmed to length as it was a universal linkage.

One thing to add - the large diameter portion of the Ididit tilt/shift column is longer than the Flaming River tile/shift column. It might not matter in your installation, but I had to re-locate my column drop 1 1/2" closer to the firewall because I didn't allow for that when I ordered my column. Mine was a universal column - if yours is specific to your car, that shouldn't be an issue.

IDIDIT columns are quality products. With that said, if it's for a vehicle that is being newly built or just retrofitted, there will always be some amount of trial and fit up time to make it work well as seldom does anything drop in place and work right out of the box perfectly There are just too many variables between vehicles for a manufacturer to account for in his design.

I agree completely! The one thing that can be said about a 'universal' part is that it universally doesn't fit anything. I can't think of many things on my car that did not need to be modified in some way. I splurged on the billet universal ball mount for my column at the firewall - $100! Within minutes I was grinding on it because it wouldn't adjust the last few degrees I needed.
