Idiot lights ablaze
My son called me to tell me that while driving his 1996 Buick Regal, for a moment the radio cut out and all the idiot lights in dash came on. After a minute they went off and radio came back on. Said it was like a "reboot". Should I be looking for a short or a loose ground? Anybody ever have this happen to them?

The radio and the Idiot lights share the same location for their grounds. Radio ground G 201 and Istrument panel ground G 203 bolt along with a third ground underneath the dash. Look behind Or below the instrument panel on the right hand side of the big metal brake pedal bracket. If the radio becomes ungrounded it will quit working and the idiot lights when they unground and then reground they go through the "bulb test sequence" where they light to display the fact they are indeed working if they need to illuminate.
