Idle Mixture Screw Plugs

I'm rebuilding a Rochester E4ME 4-barrel carb. and am wondering if it is recommended to remove the plugs and the idle mixture screws, or can I just leave them as is. I'm just a little leery about taking a hacksaw to my carb. but I will do it if necessary.

Yes, you need to remove these plugs. After your rebuild, you will need to tune the carb, as the new carb will perform different than before. plus, you need to clean the passages.
