My score from the swapmeet at Goodguys Bowling Green yesterday. A set of 18" Halibrand wheels w/ tires for $300. A couple of hours of polishing...... and my wife is off of my ***. Her car now has big wheels

If I put wheels like that on my wifes car, it would have to have curb feelers installed...and even then its a crap shoot!

Good thing she doesn't read the forum much...gulp!

At least is doesn't have ungodly oversized wheels like 22's or 24's, they look decent, but now the rest of the car needs a little looks enhancement to compliment it.

I'm in the same boat.

I wrestled with the thought of her trashing a set of Halibrands (even if they are made for a FWD car).

They were still there 3-4 hours later....somebody else had plenty of chances to save these wheels.

Kind of like getting a new coach, then needing new carpet throughout the house?

Those rims look great. Nice polish job.

Malc, I was thinking the same thing, what a differance the wheels make on that car, doesn't even feel like the original car if you know what I mean, BTW 3 bills for Halibrands is a killer price no matter how bad they were, they look like new.

And to get the right backspacing, AND tires.

Someone look up the price when new.

once the ones in the catalog are mounted, on a car and have been around the block they are the same as the ones on your Wiff's ride, right???

(does this make it a Tuner now )

Nope, it is still her commuter car.

If I wasn't catching grief about starting a new hot rod, they probably wouldn't have gone on the corolla. I think I could have cleaned them up and ebay'd them for a profit.

Oh yeah, the dodge is also getting a cheap set of Halibrands. Kidney Bean 6's 17x7 front, 18x9.5 rear .......$600 off of ebay.

My wife has decided that she can't deal with the pressure of being careful with a set of wheels. She asked me to put her old wheels back on.

They are either going to go on ebay or get cut down into skinny wheels.

Anybody wnow what it would cost to get aluminum wheels narrowed?....cut down on the backside.

LOL's. At least youve got some profile to those. The ones on my RX nearly have more wheel than tire. Bumped.....I did say bumped a curb the other day.... and now theyre junk. Very discouraging. My son drove it last night and one of the tires nearly came off the rim. I hate these low profile buggers. Cant tell without a tire gauge if they have air in them. Even kicking the tires you cant tell.

After reading many posts....I'm starting to feel that I've been segregated as nothing more than a car enthusiast. LOL's. No-one seems to like "ricers". Oh well. No big thing to me.

By the way...love your avatar. Nice firetruck!
