I use this place a lot. Great prices and customer service. Call or email and ask for Craig. Tell him what you want and he will set you up.

First question is what gears do you have now? I'll guess you either have 3.42s or 3.73s. If thats the case you might want to move to a 4.10.

What year is your truck? If it's got a Dana 44 up front it might still have the tag hanging from one of the cover bolts. If it does then that tag should tell you the gear ratio and the number of teeth on the ring gear and on the pinion. If there is no identification on the cover you can pull the cover and count the the number of teeth on the gears by hand then divide the ring gear total by the pinion gear total to find your ratio.

from what i hear is that the 305 is not a very good engine i have a 1969 cj5 with a buick 225 and thats a v6 and i run the same tires but the gears and everything else is just stock so the only thing i did to it was put on those tires so mabe a a differnt engine may be good

A good ratio for 33's is in the 4.10 and up range.

The smaller engine you have the more gear you will need, same with overall vehicle weight.

The transmission you have behind the engine will also make some difference too.
