This one for sure isn't staged - it's the road in back of my house yesterday morning and was part of a TV news story. A lot of my area looks like a war zone.

We had wet wet snow yesterday...and lots of it. The stuff was so heavy it would clog my snowblower...and I have a BIG, 46" wide, snowblower. In fact by the time I got to my sister's driveway, I busted the machine it was having to work so hard.

Then, last evening everything started to melt with some low 30's temps...followed last night by a quick drop to below zero which froze all the melting snow into big slippery ice packs (windchill of minus 26 degree when I got up this morning). And to top it off, we got about another inch of light snow overnight so my guess is walking or driving is quite hazardous today.

Pretty typical Wisconsin weather all and all.

You got all the snow, and we just got 30-35 mph winds and a high of 0 for the day. I'm just waiting until it gets cold....

In a while, Chet.

Just a little update for you pansy puff folks...this morning, it was 26 below zero here. And this is just December. It doesn't really start getting cool here until mid January.

Back in the late 70's we once had two successive days when the wind chill was minus 70 and then minus 72. That'll freeze your eyeballs if you stay out in it too long.
