Why blow it when you can plow it? I kinda like the heat in the truck....

In a while, Chet.

Ok guys, I am a snow greenhorn, lived in the sunny San Francisco bay area all my life so fogive me if I sound stupid.

That big block powered snow blower doesn't look like it is throwing any more snow than the 3hp Sears models! I think the dude was big on motor short on "blower" to me!

....awwww heck, if there isn't a foot of snow on the roads, I don't even put my truck in 4X4 (of course I don't even have to go out in that kind of weather any more :D :D ).

A quick note here - Tecumseh Motors may be a thing of the past as 2 plants in Wiconsin and one in Tennessee are closing - now - so if you have a snow blower with one of those engines, you may be in deep ......errr snow if you need parts.

I have heard that about Tecumseh on the tractor forums.....and what a pile "O" crap they are of late.........These days it seems cheaper to replace a whole engine in those things than get work done on them....Sign of the times, it's a throw away world. Too bad those old cast iron B&S, Koehler etc engines are so heavy....cant kill them.

I just happen to have a 'spare' blown 8Hp Tecumseh Snow King HMSK80 that I'm replacing with a Harbor Freight $129 6.5Hp Chinese built piece that is a direct bolt on - and that HF engine is really nice looking appearance wise - and will probable out perform the Tecumseh POS. I'll soon know. I have NEVER had a Tecumseh engine that ran right for more then one season - on anything. B&S is my fave - but too expensive to buy as a replacement.

I thought one of the cool features is custom handlebars heated with engine coolant.

Crap! It was 88 here today, even had the evap cooler going this afternoon, and in the shop too! Snow, for us, is just a dream, unless we drive 2 hours up north to high country.
