If you could build any engine, what would it be? and what would yo put it in?
 
I would start with a Indy bbcrysler aluminum max block bored to 4.80 with a 5" stroker crank. a set of wiseco 10.5-1 pistons, 6.8 eagle 3d rods.
jesel timing belt set up . external oil system

heads would have to be Indy 600-13 heads with 2.40 int 1.90 ext valves with jessel 1.6 roller rocker .

cam - 297 int 305 ext @ .006 lift dur .690 lift int & ext 110 lobe sep roller cam.

Indy single plane manifold with 1250 dominater

2 1/8 primary 4" collecter custom made headers.

If I could build something like this I would put it either in a 68 barracuda or a 70 duster and run it in the pump gas 10.5 street class. its nice to dream isn't it.

I would go old school....a nailhead Buick with a Isky cam and 6 deuces. :thumbup: I would put it in a 34 Ford three window coupe. :cool:

A factory numbers correct Ram Air VII 428 tunnel port dual quad Pontiac drag race engine. Finding the correct factory parts would be impossible though. Probably only a handfull ever built.
Put it in a Tube Frame Supergas 68 Firebird. :thumbup:

Sorry guys I'm not going to say anything exotic so feel free to skip reading this post!

I always liked the look of the RB motors, so I'd probably build a 440 or 426 stroker motor and saddle it with a blower or a turbo. Blower seems more appropriate. I'd dump it into a black GTX or charger.

I've always had a thing for Flatheads, I would probably mess with one if I had the time/space/money.

#1 on the list would probably be a stroked 426 though. I like the valve covers, the history, the legend/awe factor etc. Seems like they present a challenge too, because they seem to require a new learning curve in terms of tuning. I think I'd enjoy the challenge and reward.

I would build a 526" Shelby enterprises FE motor, hang twin turbos on it and put it in a GT40 replica. (no need in tearing up an original.)

455 Buick stage 1 heads,like what they used in the GS's.
In a 51 Henry J or maybe a Thames panel truck.

426 Hemi 4X2. I'd put it in a stock looking duece.

A 10,000 rpm (seriously) Northstar, with eight throttle bodies, Big Stuff 3 controller, four "snotty" cams, fully ported heads, custom pistons, h-beam rods, billet crank, stainless stepped headers, etc.

I have the core, just don't have the cash...

Edit, I forgot to say what it goes in! - My other street rod project - a 1927 Phantom Race Car (street-legal). Mid-engine/rear-drive layout, tandem two-seat cockpit, etc.

I am planning to rebuild the Northstar I have for it, but I am not sure I'll end up with that dream motor in it...

I'm probably way out in right field with this one. I'd build a hopped up flat head four in a Model A. Lowered and built late 1930's period correct. Maybe a small turbo or supercharger and a straight pipe to give it an extra kick. It would be a very difficult build with a lot of effort going into finding all those old speed parts. I'd be lucky to get 100hp but it would a blast to drive around!

Poked and stroked 401s and build this car (these were actually 364s I think).

Been done before, but a blown 392 in a 53 Stude.

Second choice would be a 09 backed by a hydro in a 55.
