Post If you're an import lover and new here - READ THIS!!

Rules for engagement:

• DO NOT post in a year-old thread on imports vs. domestics just to get your 2¢ in. Trust me, you have nothing valuable to add that hasn't already been said.

• DO NOT misinterpret the term "ricer" on this site. It's doesn't mean the same thing here as it does on import enthusiast sites. Here, "ricer" refers to ANY Japanese car, for the most part....it's not necessarily offensive.

• DO NOT come here to bash domestics - this is a site for domestic hot rod lovers. If you like swatting at hornets nests...go out in the backyard and find one. No need to try it here.

• DO have an open mind. You'll need it.

• DO have a thick skin. You'll need that, too.

• DO be a respectful, mature poster. If you want to gain respect, give it first.

• DO use the skills you learned in elementary school grammar classes.

Bottom line: You're not the first import enthusiast to come here and "defend" your love of modifying/racing imports. Hell, you're not the 150th. Anything you have to say has been said here. You're still welcome to hang out and learn a thing or two about hot rods. Also, your information about imports may even be applicable in some situations.

That is all. Thanks, bonuts, for the idea

Peace,
MK2TMR2

I like it, but you're assuming that ricers know how to read. Just testing skin thickness...

Great post MK2TMR2, and great idea bonuts. Nice work guys.

Our current software doesn't have the option for stickies (yup, posts that stay at the top of the forum list), but our new board that I'm working on does. I thought we should sticky guidelines for posting for each forum, and I'd like to incorporate this into the posting guidelines, probably for the Lounge and the Dump.

I know it is a lot of work to do an upgrade like this, but when it comes time to do an overhaul on the site i recomend PHPBB 2, I have no experiance administering such software, but I use it all the time. Afer surfing many forums I have to say that it is my favorite. This may be old news to you, but I just thought Id give ya my 2 cents.

Corby

PS Iv got my '69 elcamino that's my rod, but for commuting, and to broden my horizens some I feel the need for a ricer. Could someone post a link to a good forum for imports?

PhreakPhy, check this site out. It seems to be domestic and import. It's a start anyway...

If it's a Honda you're looking at check out Honda Tech.com. Most of the guys are pretty decent there and they're pretty sharp.
