Need more info., is it auto or manual, rear end gears, vehicle weight, manual or vacuum secondary, stall speed?
These types of things can/will have some effect on where you want your timing. With that said, I would start off with the initial in the 10-12* range and want the total to be 32-36* (depends on what the car likes). Now where you want the total in by is more complex and the above factors have an impact on this. typically you want it all in between 2500 and 3500RPM. Royce |

Thanks for the quick response.
- Car weights about 3200pds - Has very mild 2.73 gears...I am fine with this as this is strictly a cruiser. - Converter is pretty tight too...stall speed is low. Just looking for a good ball park...so that should be helpful. The way it comes out of the box...does not look like all-in happens until 4,000 with about 30* of total timing. Just shooting from the gut...it appears a little too conservative...but I need some feedback. Thanks again. |
