Ignition or fuel?

Hey guys! How's everybody! Alright so I have a 1972 Chevy c10 with a 350 in it. It was rebuilt like 15k ago or so I think. Don't know exactly just picked the truck up a year ago. So I'm having a electrical or fuel issue. It will only rev till about like 4000 rpm till it starts to pop and bog down. This is under load and in neutral. I started with 12 initial timing w/o the vac adv. the hose and carb were plugged. It barely ran down the street. So I stepped it to 14 and 16 and it got better. The best I found was 22 initial timing. And I figured 20 degrees of timing from vacuum. So isn't that around 42-46 total timing? It's supposed to be between 32-38. So the reason I think it is to much fuel because I don't hear pinging or any pre detonation with that much timing. So if I advance it any more it wants to start dieing so yeah 42-46 is what it's at now. It runs really strong till 4k though! So what else could it be. But as always thanks!

do you have a timing light?
check the total timing at 3,000 rpm with the vacuum disconnected. what type of ignition do you have now? how much fuel pressure do you have? how are the plugs looking?
