Ignition resistance

I know that there has been several threads on this before, but I never could understand the bottom line. What would be the best combination of resistance/non-resistance plugs and wires? I would assume non-res. wires and res. plugs since the plugs are shorter and resistance goes up over distance. Also, where would I find such plugs if non-resistance plugs are better? Or wires for that matter? I know if I go to Autozone and ask for non-resistance plugs/wires for a small block chevy, they will need year, make and model of vehicle... and engine size. Also, I haven't really noticed anything about resistance in the ignition section of Jegs/Summit/PAW, not that I did extensive searching on it though. Thanks in advance for your patience in reading another post on this.
