ignition system

what is the best distributor to use on ignition system,hei or pertronix. running sbf 302 ho. has duel point system now

I guess it depends if you want to run an external coil or not. I love the Performance Distibutors HEI I run on my 351 in my 77 Bronco. One wire hook up is tough to beat. It is bigger than the Pertronix but I have no problem with any clearance issues. I doubt there is much if any performance difference.

One nice thing when you buy a DUI is they will do a custom curve for you. At least if you buy it through their web site.

I like the HEI it's been in my ride for almost 5 years,to run a 14" air Filter you may need a 2" carb spacer to clear depending on your intake choice,check out my picture here.It is actually this one: SBF Ford 289 302 HEI Ignition - Blue Cap Distributor w/ 50K Coil Small Block 260 The Internals are interchangable with SBC HEI's so parts availibility is a no brainer and it works fine for a street cruiser if you got a little extra in your wallet you could buy this for bragging rights:Flame-Thrower Ford 289 302 Small Block Windsor Street Strip HEI Distributor Blue
