im confused cant figure out

hey i have been helping a friend fix his 93 talon and what happened was we were just driving and it was fine and then it just started cutting out like the fuel delivery was messed up or something so i pulled it over and checked the oil. well it was almost empty we added oil and noticed black smoke from the exhaust i adjusted the fuel oxy mixture and changed the plugs. it helped alot . it still putters a little bit and now instead of black smoke its white smoke. can anyone help me figure this out

its a 1.8 sohc fuel injection what else do you need to know im just trying to figure out whats goin on with the smoke and stuff

White smoke is generally an indicator that you are burning water. You do have antifreeze in it don't you? Does the white smoke smell like antifreeze?

no not really it smells like gas real bad but it just started happening all of a sudden ya know

check this out i just went out there to check the valves...no valves sticking and it started making an irregular knocking sound every so often while it was idling.

Fuel oxy? What fuel do you use, acetylene? MAPP?

IF it has a turbo, it's possible the turbo has gone south, and i't sucking oil from the turbo shaft seals. Enough oil pulled from here will give you a smoke cloud that looks white. Also will throw the fuel map out to lunch...

Not to mention that the car will be gutless, and have absolutely no acceleration performance.

What do you call someone who has 31 posts in just 4 days, many of which make absolutely no sense?

Is nitrous really flammable?

ok look i wasnt looking for smart *** comments and its not a turbo any one who is going to be a dick just dont reply its that ****ing easy i have built several race cars from domestic to foreign i have used nos and forced induction and i have built a car that has 6 cylinders and could probably spank any car in this forum. yeah 10 seconds. no bull ****. so next time you wanna tell me i dont know what im talking about when i was beating corvettes and pretty much anything else you can shut your mouth. thank you to the people that left helpful comments.
