The only way you will see me in a Ghetto Machine is if I pick the wrong undertaker and he has a GM Hurst...

What you are seeing in the pic is the chrome on the rear portion of the roof..the roof itself is painted steel as I remember..and yes it is a glass roof forward of the chrome that goes over the roof..Ford had a similar model which was the original Crown Victoria..

And yup it is gorgeous..See one up close a personal if you get the chance..

Sam,

The car is actually a 1956 MERC MONTEREY 2DR HDTP. There was no MERC CROWN production (MERC had the HDTP and the glass top -SUN VALLEY- sans tiara mldg and the SV was only available in 54/55).

The photo shows either an OEM conversion or a custom conversion (using origional FORD parts). It does not have the SKYLINER glass insert and is painted lower body color (sun reflection gives appearance of glass insert).

The CROWN VIC on the 55/56 FORD HDTP actually made the car a sedan (center post or B Pillar) (also unique quarter glass). It was available with or without the forward glass insert.
