I'm really trying to come back!

Hey kids; Well I just had a(note, not the) week from H*%+. It all started out monday, my wife's car is a 1998 vw golf gl. I managed a vw shop for 15 yrs. Admittedly,I have been out of the trade for 6 yrs. It had a coolant leak,I put in a new water pump and thermostat, while I was doing that, the valve cover gasket was seeping so I decided to put in a new valve cover gasket, this involves taking off thr upper intake manifold. From what other mechanics tell me I should have taken off the timing belt, I didn't, I took the housing off the block. I talked to several european techs and they said removing the belt wasn't necessary. I put it back together, started it, it ran fine, I backed it off the ramps, it died, it hasn't run since! I went through several of my friends in the trade, we finally got it down to the ecu, cheap part, hahahaha! Then I had to put dad in the va again, he's home now and ok. Today my little sister(age 58) called me,she has breast cancer, is this what frank zappa meant when he wrote the song "the room where the torture never stops"? Sorry for my whine guys, it's just been a bad,bad week. Be back when I can. Keep your chin up and the bugs won't hit your teeth! Tom

Tom,
don't hold your chin up too high...... the bugs go up your nose.
Hope you got a grin out of that , Lord knows you need one.
Whenever life seems like it's kicking my butt too bad , I turn to the Bible for peace of mind. It won't change your situation , but it does provide peace of mind.
I wish you the best ( your sister , too ) in these situations.
Chin up ,
Mike

Whenever things like that get me down, I break out my Frank Zappa albums and have a Zappathon, it brings me inner peace.

This one is always at the top of my playlist.

Well all I can say is screw the car, I would beat it with a hammer to take away the news of your sisters cancer.
