im stumped

i took that carb apart and the primary fuel bowl is stuck to the metering block what should i do to get the bowl off of the block i have tapped it with a screw driver handle and no luck

Try a razor blade, someone may have used sealer or form-a-gasket on it.

i remember some years ago they used to make a (bucket) that had carb cleaner in it and you just set the body of the carb in it and let it sit over night and it would dissolve all the crap that was in there if they still make them that would seem to do the trick...

Thanks you two for the info.just wasn't for sure if prying on it with a screwdriver would damage the matting surfaces of meter block or float bowl.thanks again

as a general rule with carbs the less prying the better. if you can let it soak a bit or spray it down with carb cleaner give it a few and see it that helps if not use a razor or utility knife blade to apply light pressure and try to separate the two

And then when you get it apart you get to scrape all the old gasket material off the block and bowl !!!
