I'm trying to stay positive but..........

Remember my recent post about how rotten our car luck was in '05? My wife called me at work today. Some old coot backed into the front of our Alero. The urethane nose took the hit, no sheet metal damage, and from 5 feet away you can barely tell but it is still going to need the nose stripped and repainted as the paint on the nose is all cracked and spider webbed now. On the bright side the driver's side fog lamp had taken on water and wasn't working and he finished it off. Not that I'd expect them to pay for the light but now I can quit looking for one and let the body shop do it.

One more bright note, I may have found a great deal on a Chevy short bed style side PU but that's another post and not until I go REALLY look it over but the preliminary glance over was promising.

Sounds like another average run of daily happenings around here. We loaned Mrs. schnitz's car to the lady who's Taurus I'm working on. On Tuesday. Dawn wants our car back, I finally took the Taurus to a shop to get them to put the new nuts in to hold the back of engine cradle up. $65 to fix that, and I'll probably be eating that. The left front strut is broke to bits, $40 for parts plus $65 in labor. Plus, the lady isn't answering her phone. There's no way that car should move one inch the way it drives now. 2006 is off to a rippin' good start, isn't it?

In a while, Chet.

If there is one bright point for us now, we heard about a 4x4, 350 ex-cab '93 with a stick (YIPPIE!!!) for around $4200-4400. Bright red, and only 133,000 miles. Second owner actually wants an automatic.... I'd trade my '97 even up. It books at $4900. Crossing fingers, crossing fingers...
