Check with the Canadian Superformance Cobra dealer. It's my understanding that only parts can be imposted, so a kit shouldn't be a problem. Superformance sells turnkey- cars and have plenty of experience importing into Canada. I think they have to be more disassembled than when they come into the U.S.

Thx for the reply. They"re prices look very good, but it looks like they only sell 31 fords.
Not that I have anything against 31's, but I think I"ll go for a Tbucket.....Something that"ll blow what little hair I have left clean off.......haircuts getting expensive...................Ted
If you are importing a kit car, check into a vin # and all that registration stuff with motor vehicle registration and customs on both sides first. If your just getting "parts" for a project, its a lot easier. Bring it across yourself and you will save a pile of money on brokerage fees.I took an ATV on trade on some race stuff I sold in the U.S. and it took nearly 6 months of headaches with tranport Canada to get it sorted out.It had to be inspected to comply with Canadian specs."It is a BOMBARDIER" but they didn't like the paper the inspection report was filed on.

I am trying to put this puzzle together. It"s coming albeit slowly.
I just want to bring in an unassembled kit.
Here is what I have pieced together sofar;
Don"t even think about bringing all the pieces at once. If you do, you"ll be dealing with canada customs RIV department (registery of imported vehicles).
Canada customs has subbed this out to a private firm. Need I say more?
If you"re having a good day,and need a mood change,give them a call.
One thing I have learned so far is ; Don"t ever, under any circumstances mention the words KIT and CAR in the same sentence.
"how long have you been out of the country?"
"I"ve been gone for 48 hours"
"what is the value of the goods You purchased while away?
"I paid 50 dollars for a tool KIT for my CAR."
"pull into the bay and we"ll have the RIV people have a look at ya"
On a more serious note: Don't bring a body and frame/chassis all at the same time. Classify the items as Antique auto parts.
Anyone else with more information? "step up to the plate"
Ted
You mentioned T-bucket earlier.I imported a body, 4 fenders, and a grill shell about 10 yrs. ago.Called them parts for my off road competition vehicle ( Pulling Truck),just had to pay taxes and exchange.Imported a 57 Buick and paid only GST and exchange.Over a certain age ,can't remember if it's 25 yrs. or not,it is exempt from Transport Canada who I think you are calling RIV.This ATV fell into their department which turned into a real pain.I had no problems at the border, but they send papers to Ottawa, then they get after you to prove the vehicle meets all safety standards in Canada.Your quilty till you prove your innocent as usual.
if you look hard enough you can find every thing you need right here in canada there are builders all over are non addvertising country except when I tell you where they are I get edited even though we can say words like summit jegs ect ect $$$ ya american money and we get tax to death when we buy there stuff. sorry just telling it like it is
