Hey Pixelchik,

Welcome to the site, sorry I never saw your first intro.

I see you are central coast and gather that is NSW as the cars are RHD and I know the owner of POMROD, red Vauxhall.

You have chosen a great way to learn photography ie: hotrods.

One tip I can give you though, try to always fit the whole car in unless you are intentionally only shooting a portion of the car. Just my $.02.

Good luck,

Craig

Craig,
Thanx for your reply!!! The owner of POMROD got me onto this site via ozrodders, he is local to me here on the central coast which yes is NSW.
Yep I know what you mean about getting the whole car in shot was intending for people to see the tailgate of the car lol.
I am wondering though??.....how do i put more than 5 pics on?...do i just do another thread??

so r the pics good enough for this site you reckon lol
cheers
kylie

yep to post more than 5 pics I think you need to do another post, that or if the pics are hosted online you can add them to the message body.

As for getting the whole car in the shot I meant the first attached pic you had, was just slightly cropped off.

Your pics are fine for on here.

Say hi to Brett with the Vauxhall for me, I am klassik on ozrodders.com

Hi PixelChik. Nice pics of some nice cars.

Like klassik100 said, be careful of your framing so you can get the whole car in -- unless, of course, you only want part of it to be in the picture. Photos 3 & 4 appear to have been photoshopped -- and quite nicely at that. I like them both. In the last shot of the tailgate, watch out for unwanted reflections.

I know it's hard to get really good composition at a car show, so do different things like getting down low or up high to cut out unwanted elements or to include other bits of interest in the pic. Angle the camera a bit to change the perspective.

Keep at it and just enjoy taking and sharing nice pictures of neat cars.

Ed

ps. Here's a webpage with several links discussing photographic composition. I think you will enjoy reading through them.

Hey 38Chevy3WCoupe(ED)

Thanx for your reply and advice. This is great everyone is so nice to help out and i have heaps of links to look at now too...

The photos that you said u thought were done by photoshop were actually done with a program which came with my camera. The effect is hand drawn, cool hey!!! I have heaps of them in my collection, might have to put more on the page for you to look at...lol

Yep as I am getting further into my course, I am starting to be able to see where I went wrong with some of my earlier pics....

Not sure if you seen these yet!! If not please take a look!!!

I really like the hand-drawn look of those pics. What program do you use to do that and what kind of camera?

"if you have a pic u want to send me i will do the hand drawn on it and send it back"

Thanks for the offer, but I have too many, and I would like to play with it myself. I checked a local store thinking I could just buy an inexpensive camera and get the CD with it, but everything they have only runs on WindowsXP & I have Windows98. I do have an old version of PhotoShop and that has similar capabilities, but not nearly as nice as the ones you have posted.

BTW, nice work with the cube.
