Increased Steering Lock Required

I have a Jim Meyer frontend setup(which utilises early Camaro stub axles etc)on my 61Vette.The turning circle is much too large and therefore would like to tighten it up abit.Any suggestions appreciated.

I know nothing about the setup you have, what box, what spindles, nothing. But if you lengthen the pitman arm it will decrease the turning radius.

Are the spindles going lock to lock? If you were to disconnect the pitman arm does it go further in other words?

Get in touch with Jimmy at jimmeyerracaing.com and see if he can help you with that..he is a pretty good guy down there..Without seeing just what you have it is real hard to make a judgement call as to what needs to be done..

Are you getting full travel of the steering lock to lock??? have you the correct length on the steering arm??..is your steering box giving a full travel..?? several areas to look at here to get to the answer..

Increased steering lock required

The lack of lock appears to be solely caused by the lenght of steering arm.The spindles are from 70-81 Camaro and rack 3:1 late Mustang.I guess the arm needs to be shorter to get more lock from the available travel from the rack.Stops are not preventing lock and rack appears to be providing it's full travel.Question is:are there spindles with different steering arm lengths(arm is part of spindle casting)or can they be cut and shut(probably not!!!!).Thanks for any ideas.Kev.
