increasing rpm range

I want to know how i can extend my rpm range. I have a 4.3l stock motor, that shifts at 4grand wot. (Carbureted with turbo400) My mom has a FI 4.3l with whatever tranny comes with that, 4l60 i guess and it will get to almost 6 grand wot. Whats the difference???

Ayuh,.... That's hard to believe,....

A 4.3l is not an rpm friendly motor... Not stock anyways,...

It's got a funky crankshaft...

My moms truck is an 02 fuel injected 4.3 with electronic transmission which lets it get to those rpms but i want to know how i can get higher rpms out of a carbed set up with the turbo 400? I'd be happy with an extra 700 or 800 rpms to get me "close" to 5000. Any thoughts?
