inexpensive diagnostic pc-based tool.....

what's an inexpensive diagnostic scanner that i can plug into the car and connect to a pc? i am looking for one that has real-time capability. thanks.

There's also Auterra as well as a few others that have data stream/freeze frame capability. Do a google, there's bunches available for a Palm/PDA handheld too. You can download a free non working demo from a couple companies. Gives you a good idea as to the format/user freindliness. As far as I know (at least the ones I've seen) they're only for OBDII, but it's been a couple years since I've checked'em out.
