Info on small block ford

Aussies here have a 32 ford roadster,302 Windsor,small cam,edelbrock e street heads,c10 auto, 3.1 gears,runs on straight LPG gas,weighs 990kgs,compression ratio unknown,it has no get and go,unless you downchange and get it revving,can you guys suggest anything,or better to go new crate engine or dart block, dart heads etc,unsure of cubes, 331, 347,336, any suggestions would be appreciated thanx Peter.

I don't think you need a new engine Pete, I think it needs to be tuned in correctly. The parts you have on your 302 are plenty enough for it to have good power as I've seen many a 302 be a strong street contender. What size ports do the heads have? How tall are the rear tires? What is the spark timing set at? Off the top of my head one thing I see wrong is it needs gears, 3:1 ratio is rather poor, and if the tires have any height to them this makes it even worse. If you still want to replace the 302 there's no question the next step would be a 351 Windsor. I don't know much about LP gas, however I do know you have to add far more of it as the compression ratio goes up.
