What do you guys think of these for the garage??

They sell the patio versions for a lot less than the garage ones on ebay:

Im guessing this would be a good little thing to help warm the car body up before painting in my garage at home! Its getting a bit chilly over here now and I gotta get the paint on before the years end!
Still wouldnt run it whilst painting mind!

Ayone got an opinion on something like this?

These are too small to do what you want - besides that infrared is the way to go!

It will heat the object and not the air.

Do you have propane or natural gas available?

If you have electric options only - you might want a system like this or smaller - maybe a 3 element system.

I've never dealt with this seller, just using the heaters for a reference on what might need...

Also try Northern Tool, they have a good selection of heaters to look at. Grainger is too expensive IMHO.

Cheers, at least im on the right track. Just gotta go bigger!!

I do have a propane heater in there at the moment but it just produces too much water in the air and the fact you cant leave it on due to the fumes etc.

Yeah - those little propane heaters can be a pain = what I was asking about is if you had a big (200-300 USGAL) tank or natural gas available then I'd look at one of these style heaters...

A friend has 2 of these in an insulated 1-1/2 stall garage. He starts them out on high and ends up turning them down to low within a hour or so. They do a pretty amazing job, even in the dead of Iowa winter. The garage typically has a car sitting in the middle of it, so there is something to warm up, but I've worked in there when the 2 of us and an engine were the only thing there, still did well.
