if the power valve is fluctuating at idle change to a 4.5". It must stay closed at idle and closed when idling in gear when manifold is lowest.
What is this 224deg .450" lift cam? A dirt track motor "lift rule cam"? Brand?

These cams usually need a 10" torque converter. And the typical "2500 stall" is not loose enough at idle.

usually a "2500 stall" is a cheap tweeked stock diameter 12"+ GM converter.
