Initial Timing Question

What would be a good timing number for this camshaft. Advanced and initial timing

Duration @ .050" 214 int 214 Exh

SAE duration 287 287

Lobe spread 105 115

lash Hydraulic

Valve Lift ".444 ".444

Cam Lift ".296 ".296

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Ed

It's not very often we time one by the cam specs as a majority of cams like the same specs. What dictates the timing is the compression ratio.
So overall is, need more info. Whats the compression ratio? What engine? what other mods have been done? What ignition system?

motor is a 350 4 bolt with 400 heads ported and polish hei distributor and 600 cfm holley carb. Umm hope this is enough info. Im not sure what the compression ratio is. Its a stock motor other then the heads cam and carb

this cam like 14 to 18deg initial 34 to 36deg max @WOT.

a max of 10 to 15deg vacuum advance added at hiway cruise part throttle

Champion RV8c or AC delco R42T plugs .035" gap.

The stock GM 400 SBC heads suck even when ported.
Find some vortecs.
