Input shaft check ball

94 suburban w/ 4l60E.

Is there any benefit in removing the input shaft check ball? and capsule? The ATSG book indicates that it can be removed in heavy duty applications. I'm planning on towing with the suburban(c1500) between 5000 and 6000#. This will be occasionally but wanted to be ready for when the time comes. I've been searching the forum and internet but cannot find a definative answer.

Has anyone here remove the ball and capule and later have problems? Is it worth removing at all? Maybe just remove the ball?

Please let me know your point of view.

Thanks

it allows more oil flow for a quicker converter clutch application.

Since you are asking this question, I am guessing the trans is out of the vehicle?

Do not tow that weight in OD

Just installed the trans yesterday. Was so excited to install it that I left the capsule, forgot to take it out also. Thanks anyway, hope it work better this way....
