input on tuning turbo sbc.
Ok everyone. I am putting together a sbc 355 with a single T-70 turbo. Its going in an S10 and is strictly a drag vehicle. I have a holley 650dp that i will convert to blow through. I planned on locking the mechanical advance out of the dist and just running around 20* of timing. I will have a wideband O2 gauge on it for sure to keep a close eye on the afr.
I plan on getting it running NA at first and after i get everything settled with the motor then hookup the turbo. I will then set the carb on the rich side run just a couple psi do an 1/8 mile pass and keep an eye on the afr. as it starts leaning out. I will richen it back up and then do another 1/8mi pass with some more boost and just keep going back and forth until everything is all set. Then when i am happy with the afr and plugs i will do a full 1/4mi pass and hope everything works out good. Does this seem like a good way to do the tune?
