Installed a New Tach

A Sun Pro 3" tach that sticks at 2000rpm and dosn't go any higher?? I called the store and they will replace it but since its elect. they won't refund my money? I hope I'm not stuck with another tach tach dosn't work right. I guess you get what you pay for!
