installing 4.10 gear in a 66 skylark

I'm not sure if this is possible. I know nothing about rearends. I assume I have a non posi stock rearend in my 1966 Buick skylark that originally came with a 300 and 2 speed powerglide. I put a Chevy 350 and 350 trans in the car with a bigger cam and need more gear in the rear end. I'm wondering if I can install a 4.10 ring and pinion with the existing carrier, and if so can i order the parts of summit. Also what tools and other parts would i need? Thanks for the advice.

The Carrier breaks for the BOP/BuickOldsPontiac 8.2" 10-Bolt are 3.23 & lower and 3.55 & higher.
Yours most likely came with a high 2.73 etc.. so you'd need a 3-Series Carrier to use the available 3.55, 3.90 or 4.11 gears. Parts for these such as the Carrier are very hard to find.

I had a 66 Skylark w/340ci 4-Brl, SuperTurbine300 2-speed Trans, 8.2" Posi, it had around a 2.73 gear. Would do 90mph in 1st

Yes, a 12-Bolt from a 65-67 Chevelle will be a direct swap, 68-72 Chevelle is about an inch wider. The 8.5" 10-Bolt from 70-72 will also swap in and is almost as strong as the 12-Bolt.
These are easy to find parts for but the complete Housings aren't cheap.
65-72 A-Bodies Buick/Olds/Pontiac/Chevy, Skylark,Cutlass/F85,GTO/Lemans,Chevelle/Malibu Rears all interchange. 64 uses different UCA/UpperControlArms & Bushings.
