Door Panels

Thats easy!!! I even have a Video for sale that takes you step by step on how to make a door trim panel and install it......Heres a brief explanation of how to do it.....Forget about wood....you have got to be kidding me....That will warp within a year and look like crap.....forget about so called Water Proof board....Same thing..... Use PVC sign board about 3/16 of an inch thick...You can get it from your local sign people...Approx 50 bucks for a 4x 8 sheet....I use Black and mark with white chalk.....Use the double head Christmas's tree plugs Black......they twist in and will not pop out.....No sewing through this stuff......Scuff it with some sand paper....use a good contact cement like weldwood to glue your fabric.... This stuff can sit in the water for 20 years and will not warp or shrink ....It is light and easy to work with....You can cut it on a band saw, sand it and carve it and do what ever you want.........

Ok i'm a little confused... 3/16" sign board well if you put the holes in it and then sandwich the clips in with another piece, and then glue on foam for your design, isn't this getting a little thick??? or willl it look ok being this thick... i''ve got a few vehicles in my shop right now that i'm going to do body work on and they want me to do their interior work also..

Also i am interested in that video you speak of...

Ive never used 3/16" thick. Might work for others but not me. I use PVC plastic, the specific brand name is Sintra. Sintra is measured in mm. I keep 2mm and 3mm at my shop. 3mm is slightly under 1/8", this is plenty thick for a single layered panel. When i double the panels up, i use the 2mm, so the outcome is a 4mm thick panel, then with 1/4" foam and your material you are under a 1/2" thick for the finished panel.
