Installing/wiring new deck

Hey everyone, I have a wiring question... I am changing out the factory deck in my 89 GMC Full size truck and installing a JVC CD player. I have the mounting kit to change it over but I have no idea how to wire it. Do I need to buy a wiring harness or is there a way to use whats already in the truck and what came with the deck?
I have always stayed away from electrical but figure its time to give it a shot.

Thanks for the help.

you use on of these
http://www.scosche.com/scosche.aspx?...&CategoryID=78

you should be able to buy one locally at any stereo shop. just tell them you need a head unit factroy wiring harness adapter. they should know what you are talking about. it will just plug into you factory wirn harness for the radio, and you splice it with the one that came with the new radio. plug in both ends. no factory wires cut at all.
