Post Intake

I have a few questions concerning an intake for a sbc. I'm rebuilding a 1978 305 sbc for my '83 pickup. I have a '67-'68 327 4b intake that I want to put on it. Will this intake work on a 305? Is this intake comperable to an Edelbrock Performer intake? I am planning on putting in a Comp Cam and a set of headers, so I have that end buttoned up. I just need to know if I need to spend money on a new intake or if I can salvage the old one. Hope someone can help me! <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Post re: Intake

Yes, the 305's have the same bolt pattern.

The performer will work well at higher RPMS than the stock one. And will give a very mild low speed power increase on the 305 as well as better signal to the carb booster's. May even decrease gas consumption at cruise speed's.

Post re: Intake

You can port match the intake and the heads to increase your power a bit on that small block and save your self spending the money on a new manfold. That is just a suggestion though.
