intake bolts on vortec heads
I have a set of Vortec heads that I am putting on a street stock class race car( roundy round) When I was getting ready to install the intake I noticed that they only have 8 intake bolts, two on each end of the head. I have built a motor with vortecs before but did not install the intake and carb so I didn't pay it any attention. Is this right or did I get screwed? I already have to get a new intake for the vortecs I just don't want to buy new heads considering the amounty of work that has gone into them. Thanks guys

Yep, vortec heads have 8 intake bolts that are straight up. You`ll also notice the intake ports are slightly slanted compared to older small block heads. If they don`t have 8 intake bolts, then there not vortec heads.

Thanks I'll remember that next time I'm looking for heads in the junkyard. I knew the runners were different which I have heard that helps them make the power they do
