Intake and carb questions????

I am installing a Fresh (no miles) rebuild AMC 360 into a Wagoneer and the customer wants to go with a upgrade for the induction. I will be using the Edelbrock Performer intake, and I would like to use maybe a BG Road Demon carb, around 500 cfm. What do you guys think of this combo? The engine is bone stock. Also If anybody knows what throttle linkage brackets I will need. Any other suggestions would be nice.

Steve

I would use a 570 Holley for that application

changing the carb and intake on a 3800 lb car with a stock no lift/no duration cam to me is a waste...

talk him into a "performer package" carb/intake/cam or

change the cam and keep the stock intake/carb is better or,

go one step deeper gears (3.00 to 3.25)....that he CAN feel while driving....

??? BG is way overkill for this combo, it's not a "race" motor.... and who will do future carb tune ups

a BG 500 isnt a race carb its a performance carb for small displacement engines.
I do however agree, a smallish RV type cam would be an improvement. but the stock AMC smog era intake & carbs dont offer much for thorratle response, so a Performer intake, & a 570 Holley would be an improvement. a 600 Edelbrock would work decent if you like Edelbrocks carbs. Id use the Holley personally

stepside,
my error, he did say "Road Demon", it's a street carb no doubt

and maybe better if I had said, can't afford a holly 570/performer manifold and rv cam, do the cam now with the stock manifold and carb, easy enough to swap carb and manifold later
