Intake manifold

Hello everyone, i have a 1982 ford 302 motor and i would like to put an aftermarket intake on it. The stock manifold has rear coolant crossover ports. If i use a manifold without this provision will overheating be an issue?
Thanks .Joe

No problem with overheat, this was done to balance up coolant temps between left and right sides at the rear for emission purposes.

If you check out most Ford SBF used aluminum intakes most will have corrosion in the water ports and even where they are blocked off they corrode.By having all ports open and flowing you eliminate that restriction and it promotes more even cylinder temperatures.I chose this intake almost four years ago: FORD 289 302 5.0L Polished Aluminum Intake Manifold - KMJ Performance It has open water ports front and rear so I was able to relocate the front heater hose port to the rear since I needed the space with the HEI and A/C.The fit was perfect and it just wipes clean with a soft towel, the low end and mid-range power is very strong and better than the Edelbrock that I had on before.
